PVC shrink films can be classified in various ways. Here are some common classifications:
By printing performance:
Printing grade: It has good printing adaptability and can be processed into printed labels, achieving multi-color and exquisite printing. It is often used for the label packaging of beverages, cosmetics, and other products. For example, the labels on common red tea, green tea, and mineral water bottles are mostly printing-grade PVC shrink films.
General packaging grade: It can be made into tubular films, L-shaped folded films, etc., and can also be processed into tube bags and flat bags. Although it can be printed, the printing effect is not fine, and the number of printable colors is limited. Generally, only one or two colors are printed, and it is mainly used for the packaging of products with low printing requirements.
By strength grade:
General grade: It has basic shrinkage performance and physical strength, and can meet the packaging needs of general products. It is suitable for the packaging of most daily necessities and small commodities.
Medical grade: It has high hygiene standards and quality requirements, with good transparency, strength, and shrinkage. It is mainly used for the packaging of medicines, medical devices, etc., to ensure the safety and hygiene of the packaging.
High-strength grade: It has stronger physical properties such as tensile resistance and tear resistance, and can withstand greater external forces. It is suitable for the packaging of heavy, irregularly shaped, or products that require strong protection, such as hardware products and electronic products.
By softness:
Soft PVC shrink film: It contains more plasticizers in PVC resin, making it soft and easy to bend. It has a low shrinkage temperature, usually around 40°C. However, due to the presence of plasticizers, it is prone to brittleness and has high brittleness at low temperatures, making it unsuitable for cold-resistant packaging.
Hard PVC shrink film: It contains little or no plasticizers, has good flexibility, and is not prone to brittleness. It has good rigidity and stiffness, and has a long storage time. However, its melting point is high, and the intermolecular force is large, making it difficult to stretch and process. It is generally not used directly as a heat shrink film.
By functional use:
General packaging film: It is mainly used for the conventional packaging of products, providing dust-proof, moisture-proof, protective, and aesthetic functions. It is widely used in the packaging of various daily necessities, foods, toys, etc.
Heat shrink label: It is specifically used for making product labels, which can be adhered to the product surface through heat shrinkage, providing rich graphic and text information and having a good display effect. It is often used for the label packaging of beverage bottles, cosmetic bottles, etc.
PVC heat shrink tubing: It has properties such as corrosion resistance, dust resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and insulation. It is widely used in the insulation packaging of electronic and light industrial products such as electrolytic capacitors, batteries, lamps, inductors, hardware steel pipes, and wire and cable joints.
