Compared with PVC, PE, PET and other materials, the core advantages of
POF shrink film lie in its environmental friendliness, temperature resistance and overall packaging effect, making it particularly suitable for scenarios with high requirements for packaging safety and texture.
Core advantages of POF shrink film:
1. Environmentally friendly and non-toxic, with a wider range of applications: POF shrink film is made of polyethylene and does not contain harmful substances such as plasticizers and heavy metals. It does not produce harmful gases when burned and can be recycled and reused. This allows it to come into direct contact with food (such as chocolate and baked goods) and medicines. PVC, which may contain plasticizers, is mostly used for non-direct contact labels; although some PE films can also come into contact with food, their environmental certification standards are usually lower than those of POF.
2. Wide temperature range and adaptability to complex environments: It can maintain stable performance within a temperature range of -50°C to 120°C, being resistant to both low temperatures (suitable for frozen food packaging, such as the outer membrane of frozen dumplings) and certain high temperatures (can be used in conjunction with pasteurization processes). In contrast, PVC becomes brittle at low temperatures and has poor heat resistance (≤60°C), PET is heat-resistant but lacks low-temperature toughness, and PE has weaker heat resistance than POF.
3. High transparency and good shrinkage effect, enhancing product texture: The transparency of POF film is superior to that of PVC and PE, allowing for a clear display of product appearance. It is especially suitable for gift packaging (such as the outer layer of gift boxes) and high-end food packaging (such as imported snacks). Additionally, its bidirectional shrinkage rate is uniform (the shrinkage rates in the horizontal and vertical directions are close), and after heating, it can closely adhere to the product without wrinkles, while PVC has a lower longitudinal shrinkage rate, which may cause the packaging to be loose.
4. Strong toughness and tear resistance, providing better protection: Its tensile and tear resistance are higher than those of PVC, making it less likely to break during transportation and handling, and thus better protecting the products (such as electronic products and precision parts). Moreover, POF film is soft in texture and will not scratch the surface of the product during packaging, while PET film is hard and may scratch fragile products (such as plastic toys and cosmetic bottles).
